Join us on a SMALL GROUP guided trip to one of the most iconic communist monuments from the past in Eastern Europe. The UFO-like abandoned building is located on top of Buzludzha Peak in the Central Balkan mountains. Today an empty structure stripped of its initial purposes, it has gained many admirers and popularity around the world and is considered a remarkable representation of this part of history. Another highlight of this day trip is the wonderful Ethnographic Complex of Damascena where you can learn more about the production of the famous Bulgarian rose oil. Another stop of this day trip is the Orthodox Russian-style church near the town of Shipka.

10:30 – Visit to Damascena Ethnographic Complex – Explore the Damascena Rose Oil Complex and learn about the traditional methods of rose oil production. Enjoy the gardens, distillery, and local culture.
13:30 – Arrival at Buzludzha Monument – while the interior is closed for safety reasons, the panoramic views from the peak (1,441m) are spectacular. Tip: Wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket.
15:30 – Stop at Shipka Memorial Church – a key symbol of Bulgarian-Russian friendship and the Russo-Turkish War.
16:30 – We leave for Sofia and are back at the starting point around 19:30.
